【Extinct Fish came back?! Check the history of Lake Tazawa!】
This museum was opened on July 1st, 2017, with the hopes of sharing Lake Tazawa’s history, culture, and a message for the future. Inside is a 60 panel display that talks about the development of the 5 Kunimasu fish that went extinct on 2007. After the extinction, miraculously Kunimasu fish was found in Saiko Lake Yamanashi, which now is preserved by Kyoto University Team. The panels also talk about the ecology of the Kunimasu, the chronology of the species discovered in Saiko Lake, and a visualization of the past environment of the lake and how it can be revitalized for the future.
